Our main canal stretch is the Grand Union in Warwickshire which runs from Bridge 62 near Rowington down to bridge 52 on Hatton locks. There is then a short gap between bridge 52 and bridge 51 then we have the water all the way through Leamington Spa past Stockton Bottom Lock by the Blue Lias Pub and up to Calcutt bottom lock 3. That’s nearly 20 miles of prime fishing ! The canal is mostly shallow and coloured but holds an excellent head of fish including Zander, Pike and Perch as well as carp, eels, bream, roach, ruffe and hybrids. No doubt there are a few surprises in there too.

We also have the fishing rights on a lovely stretch of the Grand Union further North, at Knowle. While this stretch is only about 1.2 miles in length it contains several large lock pounds that increase the amount of fishing on offer dramatically. This water is particularly good for specimen perch and also contains zander, pike, roach, bream. However it should be noted that there are very few, if any zander in the short section above Knowle top lock (no, 51) or in the top two pounds, but some very nice perch, so if you are after Zander stick to the bottom two pounds and below. Please note the fishing south of the King’s Arms bridge (bridge 70) is not on LACC waters.

We also have 2 stretches of canal on the South Stratford canal north of Straford Upon Avon. Our 1st stretch runs between Bridge 38 (Broom Hall Bridge) Just below Lapworth Junction to Bridge 47 (Old Warwick Road, Preston Bagot). The best access for parking is at Lowsonford, where there is a layby next to the canal just over the canal bridge (postcode B95 5ER). The canal offers some real specimen predators and has produced large Zander, Pike and perch in the last 12 months..it can be tough at times, but if you get a fish, it’s often a big one. Fishing north of bridge 47 is not on LACC waters. This section is owned by PERLS Angling Club.

We have now also taken on the section of the South Stratford Canal between Bridge 53 and Lock 50. This includes a huge amount of excellent perch and zander fishing and a few bonus pike and chub as well. For those interested in other species there are also some cracking bream and roach to be had. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please note that it is NOT acceptable to park in the Navigation Inn Car Park during pub opening hours when fishing then South Stratford Canal near Wooten Wawen. We have now received a number of complaints from the pub about persistent offenders.

The club has a deal with Leamington Angling Association that allows our members to fish some fantatstic town stretches of the River Leam in and around Leamington Spa and a further stretch of the Grand Union Canal at Rowington.
The Leam town waters (map below) offer some amazing fishing with small streamy streches, wide slow areas and even a weirpool and as well as the usual perch, pike and chub this little river also holds some specimen zander. Please Note that the closed season is in force on the river and fishing is only permitted between 16th June and 14th March.
Members can also fish the LAA 3.5-mile stretch of the Grand Union Canal between bridge 52 at Rowington and bridge 67 Chessetts Wood.
